Sewable Haptic Driver Controller Board
While playing with haptic motors I was frustrated with the limitations of daisy-chaining drivers and microcontrollers to control a large number of motors. I wanted a centralized board that could drive dozens of motors and be easily incorporated into haptic garments like gloves or shirts.
Driver Board Specifics
Capable of driving 24 haptic motors
Attachment points for conductive thread
Designed in Eagle
The haptic motors would be incorporated into sewable breakout boards or the glove itself and connect to the board with conductive thread, enabling a low profile array. I created the schematic and PCB but haven’t ordered a fabricated prototype yet.
